To empower consumers by giving them a voice larger than their own. Volunteer professionals in offices around the world are trained to assist consumers through mediation and education in order to resolve problems with businesses, government agencies and other organizations. Services are free and confidential and available to all individuals and small businesses.

Description

Call For Action, Inc. is an international, non-profit network of consumer hotlines founded in 1963. The organization is tax-exempt and donations are tax-deductible.Each Call For Action (CFA) office is associated with a local radio or TV station that provides working space, supplies and promotion of their services. At the St. Louis location, the service is sponsored by KTVI-TV Fox 2 News, and is known as Contact 2 Call For Action. When a consumer calls Contact 2 CFA, a volunteer listens as a problem is described. That volunteer then "owns" the case until a resolution is obtained. The volunteer will contact the company or agency directly, in order to promote dispute resolution. Contact 2 CFA telephone lines are open to the public for calls Monday thru Friday, from 11 AM til 1 PM, so volunteers must be present between these hours. Also volunteers are asked to work an additional hour before and after the lines are open, in order to attempt to resolve their cases. No evening work is available.
