CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are everyday citizens who are specially trained to advocate for the best interests of child victims of abuse and neglect involved in the court system. Appointed by the Court, CASA Volunteers serve as the child’s voice in legal and social service settings-ensuring they don’t get lost in an overwhelmed system or remain in unsafe or unstable living situations. Through weekly contact with the child and ongoing communication with caregivers, caseworkers, and other adults in the child’s life, CASA Volunteers: Assess the child’s needs Identify appropriate resources and services Submit written reports and recommendations to the court based on their findings CASAs provide more than just advocacy-they are a consistent, reliable presence for children during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Be the warm, welcoming face that children and families see when they walk through our doors. As a Front Desk Greeter at CARE House, you’ll help create a safe and friendly environment for those we serve. Responsibilities include: Greeting and welcoming visitors Answering the door and directing guests to their appointments Answering and transferring phone calls on our mainline, and occasionally sharing information about outside resources Assisting with light office tasks at the front desk (like stuffing folders, data entry, or small projects) This is a great opportunity for college students-it offers a chance to give back while still allowing time for quiet study during slower periods. Current Need: We’re also currently recruiting for a flex shift, meaning you’d fill in as needed when our regular volunteers are unavailable (mostly Tuesdays and Fridays). Perfect for someone with a flexible schedule who wants to make a meaningful impact!

By preparing and serving dinner, you help set the tone for connection and comfort before the group begins. What you’ll do: Provide and serve dinner to program participants Use our fully equipped kitchen on-site, or bring prepared foods ready-to-eat! Every Tuesday evening, families who have experienced sexual abuse and neglect come together at CARE House for group therapy and healing. You can be a vital part of their journey by providing a warm, nourishing meal-offering comfort and connection before the session even begins. By providing, preparing, and serving dinner, you allow families to focus on healing without the added stress of planning a meal. This is a wonderful opportunity for work groups, church groups, NHS members, or individuals who enjoy cooking and want to give back in a meaningful way. Meals are served at 5:30 PM on Tuesdays at CARE House, and volunteers can use our fully equipped kitchen on-site to prepare food, or bring prepared foods that are ready-to-eat. Your support helps create a welcoming, supportive environment for families on their path to healing.
