Mission Statement
The Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902 with the encouragement of President Theodore Roosevelt. The Navy League has provided a powerful voice for a stronger sea service to Congress and to the American people. The Navy League has grown into the foremost citizens’ organization to serve, support and stand with all the sea services - the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine.
Description
The Navy League is a morale-enhancing organization comprised of 65,000 patriotic civilians in 250 councils worldwide who volunteer their time to give members of the sea services the support and recognition they deserve.
The Beverly Hills Navy League sponsors local ship visits and provides activities for visiting crews while in port. The organization has adopted the USS HAMPTON (SSN-767), local U.S. Coast Guard Air Station, USCGC Halibut (WPB-87340), NROTC UCLA, and Sea Cadet Corps S.S Lane Victory.
