Description

Preservation Texas was founded in 1985 to preserve historic resources by direct action and by empowering individuals, local and state organizations through education, communication, advocacy and collaboration. Since 1999, Preservation Texas has worked with the Texas Historical Commission to advocate for over $150 million in legislative funding for Texas courthouses . In 2002, the group started a Most Endangered Places list that highlights Texas historic buildings and sites that are in jeopardy of being destroyed. As the statewide partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Preservation Texas has access to educational resources, professional staff and a vast array of experiences and projects across the United States . Today, Preservation Texas works with its partners to be the advocate for preserving the historic resources of Texas.
