Mission Statement

The New Britain Youth Museum and the New Britain Youth Museum at Hungerford Park are non-profit educational institutions dedicated to enhancing the learning experience for children, young adults, and adults in Connecticut. Through the collection, preservation, care and exhibition of material culture, natural history collections, plants and live animals the museums endeavor to create a greater understanding of the arts, the humanities, natural history, and science.

Description

The New Britain Youth Museum in downtown New Britain offers school programming outreach, exhibits and special events that focus on history, art and the cultural heritage of the diverse peoples of central Connecticut. In addition, The New Britain Youth Museum at Hugerford Park, Kensington offers educational programming, exhibits and special events that relate to science, natural history, the environment and other issues confronting today's society.
