To promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals: 1) To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women. 2) To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served. 3) To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. We are your regional Peace Corps office and look forward to sharing information about Peace Corps opportunities abroad. Description

Established by President John F. Kennedy, the Peace Corps was created to provide education and technical training to citizens of other countries and to foster cross?cultural exchange. Since 1961, nearly 200,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have helped promote a better understanding between Americans and the people of the 139 countries where Volunteers have served. Peace Corps Volunteers must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years of age. There is no upper age limit. Peace Corps service is a 27-month commitment.
