Mission Statement

Pickering Creek Audubon Center is a private non-profit sanctuary dedicated to community-based conservation of natural resources through environmental education and outreach on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. We promote the citizen s active role as conservationist through education about the Bay ecosystem and its problems, coupled with an innovative land management and alternative agriculture program. PCAC provides leadership in balancing preservation and sustainable use, and in exploring solutions to conflicts between humans and nature.

Description

Pickering Creek is affiliated with the National Audubon Society. The Center features over 400 acres with mature forest, wetlands, meadows and waterfront that are accessed by over four miles of trails. The Center offers many programs to school children annually and its trails are open daily from dawn to dusk. Pickering Creek serves over 16,000 students a year for science and environmental education programs.
