Description

Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council is a non-profit neighborhood association and a Community Development Corporation. Ivanhoe spans 31st Street on the north to Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. on the south, from Prospect on the east to Paseo Blvd. on the west and is home to approximately 6,000 residents. The business of re-building and re-shaping a previously devastated community is the people's business and is carried out by an Executive Director and a committed staff of six, overseen by a twelve-member board of directors. With limited staff and a wealth of creativity; the director and staff labor long hours keeping the books, fundraising, connecting with residents and donors, and managing a variety of programs, all in line with the vision "Building clean, beautiful, safe and thriving neighborhoods". The vision is taking hold. Volunteers and contributors are a vital part of Ivanhoe's success stories. Problems are reported, homes are renovated, new development is on the horizon, area parks are places of enjoyment, empty lots have become urban gardens and children are encouraged and taught drama, art and healthy living. We are located at Nutter Ivanhoe Neighborhood Center, 3700 Woodland, Kansas City, MO 64109. For more information visit www.incthrives.org or email Yolanda Young at yyoung@incthrives.org
