Mission Statement
In order to improve and sustain the quality of life on the Ball State campus and in the surrounding communities, Student Voluntary Services promotes education, leadership, and community development through community service, service learning, and social awareness.
Description
Out of the 300+ student organizations housed within the Office of Student Life, SVS is one of the largest. Established in 1965, SVS sends more than 2,000 Ball State students into the community to serve others. These students come from all academic disciplines and majors. Some students serve through SVS to complete service-learning requirements for their classes while others sign up with us just for fun!
Serving the community is a great way to meet new friends, make community connections, and have some fun! Whether you are tutoring children, visiting the elderly in long-term care facilities, or donating your time at local food banks or soup kitchens, you will gain practical work-related skills that will benefit you in the future.
