Mission Statement

Tax Help Montana is a coalition of partner organizations and volunteers dedicated to affording modest-means Montanans access to no-cost tax preparation services through state-wide Volunteer Income Tax Assistance [VITA] sites. In an effort to increase Earned Income Tax Credit [EITC] claimants Tax Help Montana opened its first tax sites in Browning Montana on the Blackfeet reservation and in the city of Great Falls in 2004. To day the program has brought back over 10 million dollars in state and federal refunds to communities across the state. Since its inception Tax Help Montana has continued to expand the services provided to include public benefits screening, financial literacy education, and a variety of asset building programs. To this date, Tax Help Montana remains the only no-cost tax preparation provider in Indian Country and maintains the commitment to provide alternative tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income Montanans. Tax Help Montana, helping hard working Montanans keep their money where it belongs, in their pockets.

Tax Help Montana is a state-wide Volunteer Income Tax Assistance [VITA] program that opporates over 20 no-cost tax preparation, benefits screening, and asset building sites across the state of Montana.
