Mission Statement

Margination is a nonprofit in Troy, NY dedicated to turning people from all walks of life into leaders and job creators. We’re building a network of worker-owned businesses that share resources and support one another. We believe our cooperative infrastructure could be a model approach for communities struggling with poverty and unemployment.

Description

So many communities like Troy, NY suffer from poverty, unemployment, and disempowerment. Margination is developing a unique sustainable solution to these problems.

Our non-profit is an umbrella organization building a model to renew the local economy. We are working to combine a community of mutual social support, a network of cooperatively owned businesses, and a strong infrastructure that provides facilities, equipment as well as financial and technical services. These three structures foster the holistic foundation needed to keep wealth local and create opportunity.
