Description
We believe that every child battling a chronic illness is a Superstar. We want every child to know how special they are so we honor them with a care package filled with their favorite items. When possible Ashley visits them and delivers their package in person. When our Superstars are feeling well enough we invite them to participate in all of our events!
While our Superstars are our brave little heroes their siblings and parents play a huge role in their battle as well! We hold family fun nights for our Superstar families. These nights are held with the purpose of giving the family a break from their hectic lives filled with doctors, hospitals, and medical bills. It also allows our Superstar families to meet other families just like them! The only thing they have to focus on that night is having a good time!
Who is eligible for our Superstar program?
- Any child who is suffering from a chronic illness, who is between the ages of one and twenty-one
- Condition is ongoing
- Condition requires medical treatment
- Must be living in New York
In addition to care packages and our Superstar program, we also hold hospital parties monthly at two local hospitals. We bring a gift bag filled with various toys and games for the child to play with while in the hospital. We also bring pizza, juice packs, and a craft for each child to do.
Finally, we bring ER packages to two local hospitals. These packages are given to children who are brought into the emergency room. Packages can have coloring books, crayons, playdoh, bubbles, and more. We hope that the items in the backage will help to distract the child during his or her time in the ER.
