Mission Statement

The Gene Stratton-Porter Memorial Society, Inc. was established in 1974 with the sole purpose of supporting and promoting the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site and its programs, events and mission by reaching out to new audiences and generations in order to introduce them to Gene’s work and the significance it has in today's world.

Description

It assists the Site in promoting Gene Stratton-Porter's legacy of literature, conservation, nature photography and life-long learning by sponsoring educational events, school tours, and collaboratively assists the State of Indiana in maintaining the grounds and cultural artifacts. Volunteers get to enjoy learning abotu Gene while sharing her message and values with those who come to visit the site.
