Mission Statement

The Humane Society of Manatee County is committed to leading Manatee County in fostering compassion and respect for animals through care, education and collaboration.

Description

The Humane Society of Manatee County consists of a shelter that adopts over 1000 cats and dogs into new homes each year and a 10,000 sq ft veterinary clinic. The shelter started in 1971 is a no-kill facility that on average houses 30 adult dogs and 30 cats. Our shelter transfers in over 300 animals a year from the Manatee County Animal Services Shelter and rehabilitaes and rehomes these animals. Senior dogs and cats, medically challenged dogs and cats are routinely transfered is and given a second chance. Our shelter has NO breed restrictions. We have a volunteer coordinator, an active group of volunteers and we provide training and support to our amazing volunteers. We believe every animal deserves a second chance in finding a home.
