Mission Statement

The object of the foundation is:

To safeguard the Yellow-shouldered Amazon Parrot in the Dutch Caribbean, and to increase capacity for parrot conservation in the Caribbean region.

The foundation will achieve these objectives through:

a. conducting or facilitating scientific research that can be used to guide conservation planning.

b. carrying out actions to address threats or limits to the parrot population.

c. bringing about a positive shift in attitudes towards parrots and the dry-forest ecosystem, and building local support for their conservation.

d. increasing the effectiveness of existing, and supporting the development of new, legislation for parrot conservation and nature preservation.

e. facilitating skill exchange between regional conservation practitioners

f. Doing all such other lawful things as are necessary for the attainment of these objects
