There are very many categories and organizations of volunteers the world over and microfinance volunteer is yet another category of volunteers that the world badly needs. The microfinance industry has grown and is still evolving which means that the stakeholders of this industry need to be more creative than ever before.

Many microfinance organization have not lived to see their first birthday and many have not survived in this highly competitive world yet the world is a global village. Knowledge sharing is the order of the day but many microfinance organizations do not have such an opportunity to exchange ideas. MFV seeks to establish a network of volunteers and link them with microfinance organizations, saving and cooperative organizations, community base organizations, or any form of association that is into microfinance and economic development, that may be struggling or those that have skills gap that needs to be filled. This gives these organizations an opportunity to share information or know more about best practices.

On the other hand many students both local and international need to gain experience in the area of micro credit or microfinance. MFV give these students an opportunity to learn or share their expertise with the local organization.
