Description
Thomas Edison is a Minneapolis Public High School located in Northeast Minneapolis. The school offers classes in business enterprise, arts and design, computers and technology, social studies, math and science, world languages, English language and literature, English as a second language, and more.
Edison is an innovative place where lots of things are happening! We are involved in our neighborhood in many ways, including partnerships with local businesses, a fine arts council, and a community garden. This year we will host a series of human rights forums for our students, families, and community members.
Volunteers at Edison can help ambitious students succeed while working in a diverse and dynamic environment. Volunteers can explore numerous opportunities, including the following:
- One-on-one tutoring
- Assisting students and teachers in classrooms
- Planning projects and events
- Creating graphic design or technology materials and resources
- Providing language support for families and students who speak languages other than English
- Supporting after-school enrichment rograms
