Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Breast Cancer Help, Inc. is a not for profit with a four-pronged approach to advocacy which includes promoting education and awareness of the disease, working to bring about positive changes in the environment, raising funds to help ensure that Long Islanders have access to the best possible medical care, and providing psychosocial support services and programs for breast cancer patients and survivors.
Breast Cancer Help, Inc. is a not-for-profit grass roots organization with a focus on action and advocacy to eradicate breast cancer. Founded in 1994 by Lorraine Pace, a breast cancer survivor, and Father Thomas Arnao, the group promotes education and awareness of breast cancer issues. Pace was also the founder of the West Islip breast cancer mapping project, which pinpointed breast cancer clusters. This original mapping project, which spearheaded the breast cancer environmental movement, has now spread to other parts of New York, the U.S. and abroad. Ensuring that Long Islanders have access to the best possible diagnosis and medical care available is paramount to the board and our members. All funds raised are utilized to further our objectives to increase awareness and education into the cause, treatment and cure of breast cancer and to improve access to high quality breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment for all women. In March of 2003, Breast Cancer Help, Inc. opened its Long Island Cancer Help and Wellness Center with the goal of increasing cancer awareness to promote early detection, while providing patients and survivors with needed support. In April 2006, Breast Cancer Help and North Shore LIJ Southside Hospital agreed to work together in a partnership designed to bring about both increased public awareness regarding the hospital's role in providing women's health services to the community as well as the services and programs we continue to offer for breast cancer patients and survivors. This arrangement has allowed us to create improved access to our programs in a more comfortable and inviting space, opportunity to expand existing programs and services and implement additional and new programs.
