Description

We are the oldest and largest NO-Kill animal shelter in the City and County of El Paso, Texas and have remained in continuous operation for over 66 years for the purpose of preventing cruelty to animals, removing sick and rabid animals from the streets and building a shelter for the care of homeless, unwanted animals and abused pets.

The HSEP is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and does not receive any funding from the City or County of El Paso, the State of Texas or the federal government. We are totally dependent on adoption and service fees, fundraising activities, donations from the community and grants for all of our operating expenses. The HSEP is NOT affiliated with any national organization such as the Humane Society of the United States, nor is it a member agency of the United Way of El Paso County.
