Description

ABC Clinic performs spays, neuters and basic preventive care (vaccinations and heartworm prevention). The clinic is supported through partial fees for services, private donations, and grants. Vets are licensed and paid; most drive 2 hours each way and are scheduled 1-2 days Mon-Fri. 15 staff (veterinary technicians, receptionists, and managers); 35+ spay/neuter surgeries are performed per day.

Annual Impact: at 5 offspring per litter, ABC prevents over 45,000 cats and dogs from burdening taxpayers, shelters and rescues and keeps thousands off the streets or from being dumped on country roads.

The Humane Society of Central Texas is becoming No Kill because of our work and that of area partners like the City of Waco municipal leadership.

Taxpayer cost to impound one cat or dog is $65. Surgery cost is $65 or less. Further reduction in surgery costs for pets of families on Medicaid, Disability or Food Stamps.
