Shuttle Cart Drivers will escort Veterans, visitors and families from the parking lot to the entrance of the facility. The shuttle carts are those similiar to "golf carts" and have enclosures for inclement weather. The shuttle carts run Monday thru Friday from 7:45am to 4:00 pm.

This position involves visiting with Veterans who enjoy visitors and need some company. Many of our Veterans enjoy card and board games, talking, listening to stories and music, or even having someone to share memories. Volunteers are an important figure at our facility. A Veteran will definitely appreciate you!

Veteran Care: Provide care to Veterans by listening, providing reassurance, holding the Veteran’s hand, sitting quietly and providing companionship, reading to the Veteran, assisting in writing letters, playing cards or games, and taking the Veteran for a ride in a wheelchair to visit other areas of the facility. Family Support: Provide support to family members by listening, allowing family members to vent emotions and concerns, giving reassurance, encouraging the use of the family room, directing the family to other facility services as needed/requested. Personal Care: Assist with non-medical care as directed by the Palliative Care Coordinator or nurses (RN, LPN) caring for the patient. Other: Keep Veteran and family rooms tidy, water plants and flowers as needed, keep family kitchen/lounge tidy and stocked with supplies.
