Mission Statement

Asian Women's Home, the domestic violence program of Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), provides culturally and linguistically appropriate services to assist women and children in rebuilding violence-free lives for themselves.

In a county where 32% of the population is Asian, and as the only Asian domestic violence shelter-based program in our county, AACI Asian Women’s Home fills an obvious gap in services. We are proud to offer a range of linguistically and culturally sensitive services to victims of domestic violence, and we serve everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backgrounds, and immigration status.

All services at AACI Asian Women’s Home are free and confidential, including:

  • A 12-bed emergency shelter
  • 24-hour crisis hotline (408-975-2739)
  • Case management/Safety Planning
  • Peer Counseling/Support Groups
  • Support in 16 languages and dialects (both Asian and non-Asian)
  • Legal, social services, and health advocacy and accompaniment
  • Emergency transportation and bus passes
  • Assistance with relocation, education, and employment, household establishment
  • Empowerment fund: small stipends for apartment safety deposits, legal bills, school fees, and other basic needs
  • Community outreach and education to service providers and immigrant communities
