Mission Statement
The Kempf House Museum is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and celebration of the Bennett-Kempf house, its garden and collections. This 1853 Greek Revival house is a unique resource because of its national architectural significance, downtown location, and the distinguished contributions of the Kempfs to the musical culture of Ann Arbor. By making the house accessible to the public, we seek to promote understanding and appreciation of our local history.
Description
The museum is operated by a board of directors which meets on the seond Monday of every month. Our regular programs include Sunday open houses where trained tour guides show visitors through the museum, two eight-week noon lecture series, Valentines' Day Victorian Teas, and German Family Christmas. Other special events are planned frequently. The house is closed in January, February, July, and August. Visit www.kempfhousemuseum.org for more details.
