Mission Statement

Description

Our Philosophy...We believe in caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. We accomplish this by combining our professional services with community volunteers to infuse a sense of compassion and happiness into our home.

The Arizona State Veteran Home was opened on Veterans Day of 2005. It is a 200 bed nursing home located in North Central Phoenix. We care for veterans and their spouses when they are too frail to live on their own. We also offer short term respite stays and short term rehabilitation stays for individuals needing therapy after a hospitalization.

ASVH offers a comprehensive nursing care program 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our staff offers the best in physical, occupational, speech, recreational and restorative therapy. We also offer dietary, chaplain, social and wellness services.

ASVH is run by the State of Arizona and is a part of the Arizona Department of Veterans Services.

If your goal is to make a difference in the lives of our Nation's Heroes, this is the place to come volunteer! If you also want to make a difference in your own life, this is the place to come volunteer! I've learned so much since I started more than a year ago. The hours are flexible, so I have time to attend college. The Staff is supportive and caring, the Veterans and their Spouses are wonderful people and my fellow Volunteers are truly awesome.
