Virtual Opportunity
Through a live or recorded presentation, you are virtually linked to a classroom of students. Volunteers can lead an entire JA program over several weeks or "beam in" for one class session to share your "story" or be a "subject matter expert" on a certain topic. Junior Achievement prepares you with a training session by a JA staff leader to answer questions and make sure you’re ready, a guide to becoming an awesome volunteer, a connection to educators who need your help and materials to share with students or prompts to share your story. The mission of Junior Achievement (JA) is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA’s proven real-life relevant programs help students make the connection between what they learn in school and how it can apply to their lives. Junior Achievement programs and volunteer role models provide students with a critically important curriculum centered around three major pillars: workforce readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship providing positive reinforcement of career aspirations, an understanding of money management, and benefits of business ownership. Get involved today! You will find the Junior Achievement volunteer experience fun and very rewarding! Please check our website, www.juniorachievementnc.com for further information.

Virtual Opportunity
The JA Virtual Career Speakers Series is an opportunity for you to tell your story while inspiring our next generation of leaders & provide hope for eastern NC students. Volunteers share school, work experiences, and stories that offer insight and guidance in career development. JA will provide talking points as a guide for your discussion. Select a few of your favorite questions - feel free to add a topic that is important to you! Whether it’s the importance of mentorship, work/life balance, women in STEM, investing.... add your own spin to the questions. Students want to hear your story & learn about your world of work! JA of Eastern NC is collecting videos from volunteers on a rolling basis to add to our video resource library. Middle and high school students will be able to access the library directly, or teachers can share with their classes. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Dena Birks at dena@jaoenc.org or (919)796-4763.
