Mission Statement

The mission of Family Focus is to promote the well-being of children from birth by supporting and strengthening their families in and with their communities. The After School Program aims to improve student academic achievement and to promote the positive emotional and social development of youth participants.

Description

Family Focus seeks volunteer tutor/mentors to work one-to-one with youth (ages 6-14), offer homework help, and provide a positive adult role model in the lives of some amazing children! Offer homework assistance on weekdays or just spend time getting to know one of our youth on a weekend: go to a park, or play a boardgame, visit a museum or watch a movie together. Volunteer once a week or once a month. Many of our children suffer a poverty of experience and have not been afforded the same opportunities to explore the world and all of its simple pleasures! We invite you to come share your time, warmth, talents, and skills with our children!
