Mission Statement
The mission of 4-H Tech Wizards is to provide culturally responsive afterschool, small-group mentoring programs to youth, grades 4 -12. 4-H Tech Wizards capitalizes on emerging technology as a way of involving under-represented youth and their families in learning basic life and workforce skills. The program helps youth aspire to post-secondary education, productive jobs and careers, and community engagement.
Description
The 4-H Tech Wizards provides a 1:4 mentor-mentee ratio for at-risk middle school and high school aged youth. As an after-school program, the program seeks to lower dropout rates and engage community members through the use of technology, science, agriculture, film, and human rights issues. The school groups take fieldtrips to make local connections at various community centers, workshops, youth leadership retreats, and colleges.
This program primarily operates out of the Patchogue-Medford school district.
