Mission Statement

The Motor City Theatre Organ Society (MCTOS) is a group of organ enthusiasts affiliated with the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS), who maintain and continue to restore the Redford Theatre, an 87- year- old building with a beautifully voiced Barton Theatre Pipe Organ in its original setting. It is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization and has NO paid employees. The Theatre has been recognized as an historical site by both the State and Federal governments. Gifts to the MCTOS (501(c)(3)are tax deductible.

Description

We are not all organists, and we don’t all own home organs. Some of us see the Theater as a marvelous opportunity to save a unique atmospheric theater. We are restoring it to a working theater as near to its 1928 state as possible, while at the same time keeping stage, lighting, film, and sound equipment up to the changing
standards of today’s technology.
