Our Mission
Palos Hills Emergency Management Agency is charged with assisting in protecting the community by mitigating against, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.

Our Vision
It is the vision of the Palos Hills Emergency Management Agency is to be recognized as a professional, well respected, proactive, volunteer, community orientated emergency management agency in the City of Palos Hills and surrounding municipalities.


We value the contributions and dedication of the personnel who staff the emergency response and management systems. We employ and deploy the best available technologies in support of our mission.

Description

We are a non-profit, non-funded, local emergency response department. We are all volunteers from the Chief down. We like the term unpaid professional over volunteer.

Our volunteers need to be atleast 17 years old. We have dedicated members that believe in what we do. We have been on several federal incidents and we recieved national recognition last year. Because our department is volunteer, it is hard to keep them. We have used Facebook and our website as a recruiting tool before.

I have been on the department over 6 years this is a great bunch of people to work with you get a lot of experience and this department is a great stepping stone if you plan a future in the public safety sector.
