Description

Historic Antioch Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1866. Antioch is located at the corner of Smith & Clay street with the lighted "Jesus Saves" sign near the steeple. Since 1866, Antioch has provided immeasurable service and support to the community. It has been a beacon of light and hope for the area in downtown Houston.

Antioch reaches the community through a Thursday noon Bible study where the homeless and the downtown business community partakes of Bible study and freshly prepared free lunch. Families are aided through the scholarship program, back to school clothing & supplies for children, Thanksgiving baskets, Angel Tree Project where clothing and toys are provided for children of incarcerated parents, and benevolence to those in need. Antioch reaches beyond the community through world missions.

Services are held: Sunday School 9:00 a.m, Sunday Church Services 10:15 a.m., Wednesday Bible Study 6:30 p.m.

Antioch is know as the church with the open door and lifted cross.
