Mission Statement
Fair Saint Louis ...LIVE on the Levee is a series of events whose mission is to showcase the civic pride and spirit of the community. The goals of the Fair Saint Louis Foundation are to:
- Produce a high quality program attracting festival goers, both local and regional, who by virtue of their participation will enhance the reputation of St. Louis as a community with an unsurpassed spirit and quality of life.
- Continue to provide the opportunity for non-profit organizations to earn significant financial support for their respective groups, and to provide increased economic support to the tourism industry of the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
- Effectively manage the financial affairs of the Fair so that whatever excesses in revenue are generated may be partially used for charitable, civic or educational purposes.
Description
Fair Saint Louis is a multi-day Fourth of July celebration and St. Louis institution for 27 years. LIVE on the Levee was born out of the St. Louis 2004 RiverSplash events and is an evening music festival held on consecutive weekends during July and August. The combined event brings in national musical acts like Cyndi Lauper, the Goo Goo Dolls, Emmylou Harris, Musiq Soulchild, and John Michael Montgomery and couples them with local musical acts, fireworks, children's activities and food. We estimate that approximately 750,000 people attended the festival in 2007.
