Mission Statement

Partnering PTSD service dogs with the courageous men and women who have served our country and communities

Courage Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which serves the state of Minnesota and specifically the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our organization is dedicated to alleviating the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) suffered by veterans and other public service workers through the assistance of specially trained service dogs.

Courage Service Dogs was founded in 2013 and we currently have 2 puppies placed in our foster training program. We are planning to partner these dogs with qualified recipients by the end of 2015. It is our plan to add an additional 2 puppies this year.

Our recipients will include not only veterans, but law enforcement officers, fire fighters, EMTs and other emergency service providers, who acquired PTSD as a result of their sacrifice and service in our communities.

In addition to providing quality trained dogs, Courage Service Dogs is dedicated to creating a community of recipients which will provide a supportive environment for those who suffer from PTSD. We are also in the process of developing a community education program that will seek to teach the public about PTSD and how service dogs can interact more effectively within our communities.
