Mission Statement

The goal of CAMBA's project is to improve the health of Brooklyn residents, we will seek out people who can demonstrate some prior involvement in HIV or STD prevention activities, parenting and prenatal care education or health care access issues. Finally, all full-time AmeriCorps members serve for a term of one year, full-time (35 hours a week). In exchange for hard work, members will receive a living allowance of over $8,840 per year, health care coverage and child care benefits, and upon successful completion of your term of service (1700 hours), a $4,725 education award. More importantly, each AmeriCorps member will receive valuable training and have the opportunity to help others while growing in the process. AmeriCorps

Description

Sponsored by CAMBA (a multiservice commujity based organization) our AmeriCorps national service project is based in Flatbush. To be eligible for the program, an applicant must be 18 years or older, a United States citizen or permanent resident and have a high school diploma or GED. If he or she does not have a GED, it must be obtained during the program year.
