Visit patients within Younker Rehab following their day of treatment and help them to relax and unwind! Volunteers are provided a cart with items to share with patients they visit with. The cart includes items like coloring pages and cross words. Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) Volunteer

The HELP program is a national program developed to prevent delirium and physical decline in hospitalized patients. Delirium is a significant contributor to longer hospital stays and a more difficult recovery. My husband had a colonoscopy 2 years ago. Was treated on time and in a very dignified manner. The volunteers that took us to the location were great. This year he had x-rays, attempted an open MRI, the staff was very compassionate. Then he had back surgery and was admitted for 3 days. The volunteers in surgery waiting room were very good at keeping us informed. The medical staff were top notch, and the PT staff. We will choose Iowa Lutheran again if we have a need.
