Mission Statement

NoVa Maker Faire is a project of Nova-Labs, Inc. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth--a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community. The mission of Nova-Labs is: To provide a community workshop where people can learn, teach and collaborate on technical and industrial works; and, To promote the usefulness of competence in the technical and industrial arts to the public; and, To serve as a center of information about the technical and industrial arts for members, schools, other interested groups, and the general public.

Description

We’re excited to bring together an amazing collection of Northern Virginia tech enthusiasts, engineers, woodworkers, artists, and craftspeople in an annual event to show and tell us what they’re making. With 100 makers, thousands of participants, and several food trucks, this event turns computers, technology, science, and discovery into pure fun. Very children and youth friendly, but not just for kids!

We build community with this event, with arts, culture, and creativity celebrated. Environmental issues are covered with our sustainability area. In short, there's something for everyone!

The Faire will be held at GMU Fairfax Campus this year!
