We would love for you to gain experience while also getting the opportunity to give back to your community. During this service-learning opportunity, the intern’s primary responsibility is to assist in the planning and coordinating of all social media marketing and business development programs at the Boys & Girls Club aimed to increase Club membership, awareness and financial support. The intern will serve as an assistant to the Development Team. Skills Tasks Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing Self-motivated to take initiative to complete various tasks Must be able to function effectively in a team environment Must be an organized, responsible and professional individual. Must be competent in the use of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge of Social Media Platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn are required Knowledge of TikTok and Twitch is a bonus Ability to curate content for all platforms that engages our audience Ability to grasp new platforms and ideas quickly Knowledge of Buffer is a plus Must be studying for a degree in Marketing or Business-related degree Curate and schedule content across all social media platforms weekly Create flyers and mailings as needed to help support the needs of the Club Use content to increase engagement and boost Club membership, awareness and financial support Highlight activities at Club across all social media platforms Spotlight staff as well as Club members to increase engagement of followers on all social media platforms. Manage a TikTok in order to increase the Club’s reach on social media Create a Twitch account for fundraising purposes and brainstorm ideas. Position Impact: As the Social Media Marketing Intern you will be highlighting all that BGC Vista offers their community. This position will help boost our engagement and reach on social media to increase community support, give staff a spotlight to acknowledge all of their hard work and help showcase Club member abilities to further opportunities.

The Boys and Girls Club of Vista is seeking an Admin Intern to assist in the management of our databases and reports. In this position, you will input daily volunteer hours, as well as design our Annual Report and monthly newsletters that will go out to our Club families. You will work closely with our fellow Development Team members in keeping our volunteer descriptions up to date and creating an impact on our future volunteer programs. This is a great opportunity to gather experience within an organization, while simultaneously steering our business towards success! Skills Tasks Proficient in working on the computer (drafting emails, managing between different websites) Ability to work in different designing platforms (Canva, etc) Self-motivated to take initiative to complete various tasks Must be able to function effectively in a team environment Comfortable with speaking to and meeting with other staff Competent in working in Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs Input volunteer hours daily into database Add new volunteer applications into OneDrive Create monthly newsletter templates Review and modify volunteer descriptions to increase community engagement Schedule meeting with staff to discuss future volunteer programs Prepare/design Annual Report Organize and hole-punch files into binders Willing to attend and assist in the set-up/break-down of events (BGC Week etc) Gather social media content for future posts/reports Position Impact: As the Admin Intern, you will support the organization of our databases to maintain readiness within the business, as well as increase volunteer engagement. The Special Events Intern will be supporting the Special Event Coordinator through the planning and execution process of our Boys and Girls Club Week/Career Day (June), The Back to School Bash and Community Resource Fair, (August) and Poker Tournament (October) during the year to enhance our Club member’s experience. Skills Task Effectively be able to draft emails to outside companies and vendors Be comfortable speaking to people on the phone and leaving voice messages efficiently Must communicate precisely with everyone Know how to properly operate the printer and copy machine Must be an organized, creative, and responsible individual that can carry on multiple tasks at a time Must be proficient in either databases such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, Word, Excel, or etc Must know how to take initiative on certain tasks Supporting the Special Events Coordinator in planning the events such as Boys and Girls Week, Career Day, Back to School Bash and more Assist the Special Events Coordinator whenever they need in any task Emailing and calling vendors to schedule availabilities or donations Planning and creating expenditure list for events Creating templates or seating charts for the event set up Being present for all of the events and helping with set up Creating marketing items for the club Designing social media or marketing posts/flier Positive Impact: As the Special Events Intern, you will be greatly assisting the Special Events Coordinator therefore creating a strong bond between each other. Do you want to put your skills and wisdom to work as a member of our Board helping underserved kids in North County? The Boys & Girls Club of Vista is looking for adept and humble leaders to join our Board during a significant period of program growth. Volunteers are the glue to our community- Our Club had over 350 volunteers last year and it truly helped us make an impact on the kids we serve. The Boys & Girls Club of Vista Board of Directors is an unpaid position comprised of caring people who volunteer their time to ensure the Club provides the best programs and resources available to many of the underserved families we serve. The Board is small but friendly and diverse group of 15 people that meet monthly on the third Thursday at 8:30 a.m. (in-person strongly encouraged). Directors are asked to be actively engaged and are required to attend a 8 of 10 Board meetings each year, actively participate on at least one committee, meet annual give/get targets (currently at a minimum of $2,800 or more per year which includes the Club's March gala.
