The Bridge Buddies program provides a mentoring opportunity for elementary students in our community by matching the youth with caring adults who are interested in making positive impacts in the lives of the children. The Bridge is currently looking for volunteer mentors to help us extend opportunities all youth who need us! As a mentor, you will be supporting elementary aged youth during their lunch hour and you will truly make a difference in someone's life. Mentors will be matched with a student that they will visit during the school day on the child's lunch hour. Commitment is weekly for an hour or less. Mentors must be 21 years of age, must pass background checks and be willing to participate in a training program prior to mentoring the youth. The Bridge's "Beyond the Bridge" program provides a mentoring opportunity for youth in our community ages 12-18 by matching the youth with caring adults who are interested in making positive impacts in the lives of the adolescents and teens. The Bridge is currently looking for volunteer mentors to help us extend opportunities all youth who need us! As a mentor, you will be supporting youth from ages 12-18 with their goals to help them succeed. You will truly make a difference in someone's life. Mentors will be matched with a youth for 12-18 months and will meet with them for up to 2 hours per week. If the commitment to weekly mentoring is too much, join us for Thursday Teen Drop-In nights at the YMCA from 3-7pm where we will hang out, pal around, and provide guidance and support to youth who need us! Commitment is 2x/month for 2 hours/shift. Mentors must be 21 years of age, must pass background checks and be willing to participate in a training program prior to mentoring the youth. The Bridge Youth and Family Services is in need of dedicated young professionals (in their 20s and 30s) who will aid in the success of The Bridge through community outreach, fundraising, and increase awareness about our programs. The Associate Board aims to be a multidisciplinary team of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and talents committed to developing the young professionals in our community. Requirements: Be committed to the Associate Board for a period of 1 year Attend monthly meetings Take part in the planning and implementation of one annual fundraiser Participate in one of the following committees Special Events Membership/Recruitment Development Program/Youth Mentoring Committee Responsibilities: Recruit new members to join the board Represent The Bridge through social media and at special events Plan an execute one fundraiser annually with the support of our staff Participate with youth through our mentoring drop-in services as available Qualifications: Be in your 20s or 30s (must be at least 21) Undergraduate degree (All fields are welcome) Interest in social service agencies or fundraising Benefits of Membership: Develop leadership skills Network with other young professionals Give back to the community Learn new skills through committees such as fundraising techniques, working with committees, planning an event, and working with youth.
