Mission Statement
Kicklighter Resource Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other developmental and physical disabilities.
Description
Kicklighter Resource Center, Inc. is divided into two programs: Chatham Association for Residential Services (CARS) and Kicklighter Academy. CARS assists adults with special needs find appropriate housing to fit their personal needs. They have semi-independent apartment complexes and group homes, from Savannah to Brunswick. Our academy serves children ages six weeks to five years old during the school year and up to eleven years old during summer camp. Kicklighter Academy is a stimulating pre-school environment for all children. Children are taught through art, music, dramatic play, & theme-based learning centers. Our focus on integrating those with developmental disabilities into typical classrooms enhance the diversity of our school while maximizing each child's individual growth.
