Berkeley Arts Magnet (Elementary School)

Description

Berkeley Arts Magnet is one of the largest elementary schools in Berkeley. The school has nearly doubled in size over the past several years. Our students represent a diverse community with a vast range of educational, ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. In 2002/03, the student body was 34% African American, 30% White, 8% Hispanic, 7% Asian, 21% interracial, and 1% all other groups. Our student body includes Title I, Full Inclusion, and Special Needs students, students with disabilities, English learners, and gifted students. In 2005, 39% of our students qualified for free or reduced price lunches.
