Mission Statement

Seattle ReCreative promotes creativity, community, and environmental stewardship through creative reuse and arts education. Seattle ReCreative is a creative art center in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood that houses a materials donation center, a children's paint playground and dramatic play area, an adult Maker Space, and a retail store full of materials and inspiration.

Description

At Seattle ReCreative, we collect donations of art supplies, craft products, office supplies, and many other materials that could potentially be creatively repurposed and reused.

In our retail store, these goods are sold to the general public at a drastically reduced price compared to typical arts and crafts stores and allow for an easy entry point for budding artists and craftspeople to try new mediums. The proceeds from retail sales help to fund arts programming.

Our arts programming includes classes and creative playspace for young children, art-making experiences for all ages, and exposure to artistic practices and appreciation. Workshops are conducted by artists, educators, and environmental activists and provide fun and appropriately challenging experiences. Additionally, the Seattle ReCreative space is a community hub and host to events like art exhibits, birthday parties, skill shares, knitting groups, and an open community Maker Space. Our events and and community space is provided to inspire artists and stimulate social connections.
