Mission Statement

Dignity Village is the first homeless village sanctioned by any city government in the world. A self sustaining, membership based non-profit that houses chronically homeless people within structures made of recycled materials.

Description

After they are accepted to live here for a certain amount of time, become part of the membership that governed them.

It's costs outcome is far better than that of the cities lowest @ $12.00 a day, subjecting the trauma of being in an institutionalized environment. Our approach is that the homeless help the homeless @ around $4.85 a day.

We also have basic rules to live by in this village, and we have a council and security to uphold them.

This is a 10+ year strong winning template for more villages on the homeless front.

More villages like Dignity Village are needed for new people experiencing homelessness because of foreclosure or other economic problems becoming more prevalent in today’s society, so in turn, more immediate, grassroots style solutions

have to be made aware.

Other village seed plans are in the works such as, Ashland, OR., Eugene, OR.,

San Luis Obispo, CA., and list of civic bodies interested grows longer everyday.

So we're there to answer the question..." How this can be done?"
