The purpose of the Brisbane Baylands Community Advisory Group is to provide an open forum
and community-based input from the communities of Brisbane, Daly City and San Francisco and
to advise the agencies charged with the remediation actions on three contiguous sites commonly
referred to as the Brisbane Baylands.
Our community based organization serves to protect environmental quality and human health in relation to any development on the Brisbane Baylands more than 600 acres. We began meeting in 2005 and have been working ever since. We have met mostly on a monthly basis. Our memberrs are drawn from across the community including community members, environmental groups, business members. local government representatives. We are all volunteers. We have never had an employee. We created by-laws, a website and held public meetings monthly where scientists, regulators, government representatives. environmental leaders, project proponents and others have made presentations to inform our work and to educate us and the public. We have our administrative records and our fiscal records
We have provided comments to regulatoirs on several occasions at their request. We have made comments to regulators when we felt a problem was not being addressed properly and we have submitted our comments on the draft EIR on a proposed Specific Plan for the Baylands. We are an advisory group.
