Description

New York City FIRST is a regional office of FIRST - the international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to inspire youth to pursue studies and careers in science and technology and to help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the technologically-driven global economy.

FIRST programs all share two basic components:

  • engagement of students in the creative, hands-on, minds-on process of technological innovation
  • bring communities together to celebrate the achievements of kids working in science and technology.
FIRST's PROGRAMS

  • FIRST Tech Challenge (grades 7-12, ages 12-18)
  • FIRST Lego League (grades Pre-K-8, ages 4-16)
As an NYC FIRST Volunteer, one can:
  • Serve as team coaches and develop a robotics team with exclusive access to national FIRST curriculum and program guides.
