Description

In 2008, the owners of Rubio's Performing Arts began offering a free class for children and adults with special needs to give them the opportunity to participate in dance and the performing arts. The popularity of the class has been overwhelming and in the Fall of 2010, Arms Wide Open became a non-profit orgainization with a mission to provide educational and recreation programs in the performing arts for individuals with special needs. Each year, members of Arms Wide Open have the opportunity to perform all around San Diego at events such as the Del Mar Fair, the Mother Goose Parade and the Chargers Blood Drive. In addition to adding new classes in music and fitness, Arms Wide Open has intoduced a very successful theater program and has performed in GREASE; BEAUTY & THE BEAST; ALADDIN and WIZARD OF OZ. In 2015 Arms Wide Open will have a cast of 80 performing PETER PAN in front of a live audience, with many hearing the sound of cheers and applause for the very first time. Arms Wide Open has given hundreds of students the opportunity to dance, sing, act and realize their FULL potential under the loving care of professional & elite instructors.
