Description

Northstar School is what we would like to call the manifestation of a dream. Five years ago, six individuals sat together in a quaint living room in Hayward, California and envisioned a school; a school where their children could be raised in a loving, wholesome environment that celebrates diversity and promotes the core values of our faith such as mercy, tolerance, peace, charity, and love for creation. Now, six years later, we are witnessing the incarnation of those lofty ambitions. We have grown from a small class of six trusting kindergarten students and one committed teacher to a student body of 70 kindergarten through fifth graders and 14 dedicated staff members representing cultures from around the globe. We have expanded from a small yurt on the grounds of Zaytuna Institute to a full-fledged elementary school rented to us by Hayward Unified School District. We have increased our budget from $11,000 per year to nearly $300,000 per year and growing. As we grow and improve, we celebrate the blessings, appreciate our supporters, and continue striving for excellence. With each new student, staff member, and family, our ideas expand and the spirit of hope prevails.
