Mission Statement

Montana Wildlife Federation is an organization of conservation minded people who share a mission to protect and enhance Montana's public wildlife, lands, waters and fair chase hunting and fishing heritage.

Description

Founded in 1936, Montana Wildlife Federation (MWF) is the largest and oldest statewide, citizen based conservation organization in Montana with nearly 7,000 members dedicated to the principles of advocating for fish and wildlife, its habitats, and wildlife related recreational opportunities for hunters, anglers and wildlife enthusiasts.

MWF believes strongly in the principle that the public owns our fish and wildlife and we work hard to protect the right of all citizens to equally share and enjoy America's public wildlife, lands, and water.

We strive to provide access to our public lands and waters for the enjoyment of all people. As we have throughout our history, we believe that quality habitats, wild lands, clean waters, and secure wildlife landscapes are essential to the future health of our fish and wildlife and the furture of hunting, angling and wildlife based recreation for this and future generations. MWF has always been-and will continue to be-an organization with hunters and anglers at the forefront dedicated to strong conservation principles, scientific wildlife management, and to lasting safeguards for fish and wildlife habitat. MWF believes responsible, ethical, fair chase hunting and angling is an honorable part of Montana society.
