Pace Community Action Agency, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit agency committed to community development and providing services to low-income residents in Daviess, Greene, Knox and Sullivan County with limited Service in Vigo County.
Our mission began in May of 1965 when the Community Action Agency network was established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which was signed by President Lyndon Johnson and declared an "unconditional War on Poverty."
We are dedicated to providing high quality services to children, families and the community in a responsible and caring manner. For children, we ensure a secure and nurturing environment that fosters self-esteem and instills a love of learning. For families, we provide supportive services to strengthen their relationships, empowering them to become self-sufficient with a support system that is unbiased and unprejudiced. For the community, we target the needs of local populations through the maximum utilization of available resources, the sharing of information and the collaboration of services.
We are unique because we address multiple needs through a comprehensive array of coordinated services designed to have a measurable impact on poverty. Our programs include Client Services (intake & referral, Energy Assistance, Project Lift, Emergency Food & Shelter-FEMA), Early Head Start, Head Start, Health Connection, Healthy Families, Home Rehabilitation, Weatherization and Women, Infants & Children (WIC).
