Mission Statement

The purpose of this organization shall be charitable in nature and will include the following:

Providing relief of the poor, the distressed and/or underprivileged

Assisting with the advancement of education

Combating community deterioration and juvenile deliquency

Erecting and maintaining public buildings, monuments or works

Lessening the burdens of government.

Description

The Atkinson Women's Civic Club is open to any woman residing in Atkinson who subscribes to the purpose of the Club.

No substantial part of the activities of the organization shall be the carrying on of propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the organization shall not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishinig or distribution of statements) any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office.

If a needy person or family, from the town of Atkinson, is brought to the attention of the Club, the Club shall vote on whether to donate its services and/or a monetary donation drawn from the Club's treasury.
