Mission Statement

Description
Habitat for Humanity seeks to build community and improve lives by partnering with low income families in need of a place to call home and with community volunteers to build decent, simple and affordable homes. Habitat CFC is one of 1,500 affiliates operating in the U.S. It was founded in 1985 by a small group of people who came together to address the acute shortage of affordable housing with an initial focus on the Greater Bridgeport Area. Since then, Habitat CFC has broken ground for over 200 homes and helped over 1,000 family members.
Because our goal is to provide affordable housing wherever there is a need in Coastal Fairfield County, we began working towards the goal of building homes in Stamford, CT in 2006. As a result, for the first time in it's 30-year history, Habitat CFC has worked simultaneously in three communities-Bridgeport, Stamford and Stratford, CT.
