MEDICAL COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION Starts January 2025, training starts Fall 2024. The medical coordinator is an individual who works with veterinarians, vet techs, and clerks to access, organize, and manage health care for Rabbit Advocates rabbits. This individual is confident in handling an administrative role. RESPONSIBILITIES - Receiving and answering emails and telephone calls Schedules appointments Checking and verifying information on medical records Maintaining adequate supplies for GI Stasis - Lactated Ringers Solution, IV administration set, needles, Critical Care , Syringes, Metacam, Revolution, and newborn nipples Handling complaints and queries professionally Assessment of medical issues related to quality of life and need for treatment Drafting policy and procedure for termination of pregnancy and euthanasia REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor Degree or higher in Health Care Experience working in the medical arena Knowledge of key medical reports such as pathology and general health checks General understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations Critical thinking Understanding of emergency situations Ability to work independently and multi task Excellent communication skills Perform data entry in Rescue Groups or other data program File medical records

The Foster Co-leads are volunteers that screen foster applicants to become certified as fosters with Rabbit Advocates. They have a long screening process to make sure that the fosters are prepared to help take care of a rabbit. The Foster Team is the support team for the fosters and will help with any questions that fosters may have. The Foster Team coordinates moving rescued rabbits to fosters. The Foster Team works closely with the Medical Team, Rescue Team, and Helpline & Info Teams. The Foster Team enters all rabbits into our system and keeps track of them until they are adopted. Any rabbit rehome requests come through the Foster Team. This position starts January 2025; training will start Fall 2024.

Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) domestic rabbit rescue. Our mission is to promote the welfare of domestic rabbits. We are recruiting new Board Members. If you are a critical thinker, love animals, enjoy working with people, and would like to help lead an organization this volunteer opportunity is for you! The term is for 1-2 years and requires attending roughly 10-12 meetings per yea for 1.5 hrs/month. We encourage board members to join a committee as well if their time permits. An annual donation, or financial buy-in to the mission statement is expected. However, participation in fundraising will fulfill this obligation. Our purpose is to promote the welfare of domestic rabbits.
Description
Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers specialize in educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits.
We aim to place surrendered or abandoned rabbits in loving homes where they will be welcomed as family members.
Formerly a part of the Oregon Humane Society, in 2002 we created a group solely devoted to promoting the welfare of domestic rabbits.
The Rabbit Advocates operate an education and adoption website as well as a help line. We hold rabbit adoption outreach events and other activities at locations around the Portland Metro Area and hold monthly meetings at Humane Society for Southwest Washington, located at 1100 NE 192nd Ave., Vancouver, WA.
